Congressman Blake Moore, who has represented Utah’s 1st District in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently addressed economic growth and housing issues facing Utah in a series of social media posts.

On August 5, 2025, Moore wrote about his meeting with business leaders: “I recently met with several business leaders at an event in Ogden with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Chambers from Salt Lake to Logan. The pro-growth tax policies we just passed and made permanent are designed to spur growth and innovation in Utah and across the country. Local https://t.co/w3ETKBYYbj”.

Addressing housing challenges on August 6, Moore stated: “In some ways, Utah is a victim of its own success. Our incredible quality of life, economic opportunity, and low unemployment rates have put significant strains on our housing market, which has priced out young families from starter homes and presented major challenges to”.

Continuing his remarks that day, Moore announced bipartisan legislative efforts: “That’s why I reintroduced the bipartisan Build More Housing Near Transit Act with @RepScottPeters to encourage the construction of low- and middle-income housing in transit-served, walkable locations. The bill incentivizes development by tying the competition for federal transit”.

Moore was born in Ogden in 1980 and currently resides in Salt Lake City. He earned a BA from the University of Utah in 2005. As representative for Utah’s 1st District—a position he assumed after Rob Bishop—he has focused on both promoting economic expansion through tax policy and addressing affordability concerns related to population growth and rising home prices.
