Congressman Blake Moore, who represents Utah’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates on social media highlighting both local milestones and legislative initiatives.
On September 18, 2025, Moore marked the anniversary of a local military installation, stating: “On its 78th birthday, I’m proud that one of the nation’s finest Air Force bases is right here in the First District!”
Turning to infrastructure and technology issues two days later, Moore addressed the ongoing reliance on outdated mapping systems across parts of the country. On September 20, he wrote: “In a time where the vast majority of us carry a digital map in our pocket, many areas around the country still rely on outdated physical maps that lack standardization and are often inaccessible. I’m excited to introduce the MAP Roads Act, which supports map digitization and”.
He continued in a follow-up post on September 20: “By making this data more digitally available, outdoor enthusiasts, emergency response personnel, freight and commerce operators, tourists, and many others will experience greater ease navigating open roads and accessing our public lands. Moore has served as Utah’s representative since replacing Rob Bishop in 2021. Born in Ogden in 1980 and currently residing in Salt Lake City at age 42, Moore graduated from the University of Utah with a BA in 2005.
