Women’s basketball teams from Weber County received $1,290,173 during the 2024 season, down 8.8% from the previous year.

Weber State University’s women’s track and field team placed sixth at this year’s Big Sky Championships held under challenging weather conditions in Oregon. Several Wildcats earned All-Big Sky honors while standout performances came from Saga Hagelin and Alyssa Hansen Freestone.

Weber State men’s track finished fifth at this year’s Big Sky Championships amid challenging weather conditions. Coach Corbin Talley’s squad celebrated several standout performances including Ethan Ecker’s javelin victory while preparing next for NCAA Regionals.

Weber State’s men’s and women’s track teams are set to compete at this week’s Big Sky Outdoor Championships hosted by Portland State. Both squads enter with several athletes ranked highly within their conference events. Qualifiers will move on to NCAA regionals later this month.

Weber State women’s basketball has hired Felicity Jones as its new assistant coach. Jones brings experience from both collegiate coaching roles and standout playing careers in Idaho programs.

Weber State Athletics will host two Coaches Caravan events this week for fans. Attendees can meet new football head coach Eric Kjar and men’s basketball head coach Kaleb Canales.

Brandon Watson has been named assistant coach for Weber State volleyball. He brings experience from previous roles at West Florida and Arkansas. Head Coach Jeremiah Larsen praised Watson’s work ethic.
