On Friday, March 13, Central Washington Wildcats, with former Fremont High School standout Sierra Eddie, earned a 63-36 victory over the Montana State Billings Yellowjackets in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.
This opening-round contest, played at Nicholson Arena at 6 p.m., marked the teams’ first meeting in the current tournament.
The Wildcats are set to compete again on Saturday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Nicholson Arena.
Weber State Athletics will host two Coaches Caravan events this week for fans. Attendees can meet new football head coach Eric Kjar and men’s basketball head coach Kaleb Canales.
Brandon Watson has been named assistant coach for Weber State volleyball. He brings experience from previous roles at West Florida and Arkansas. Head Coach Jeremiah Larsen praised Watson’s work ethic.
Weber State’s softball team ended its season with a loss to Northern Colorado at the Big Sky Tournament. The Wildcats started strong but could not hold off their opponents’ offense. The team’s final record stands at 14-42.
