Weber State football held its annual Pro Day on March 20, with five senior players performing drills and workouts in front of National Football League scouts at Stewart Stadium.
The event gave seniors Sloan Calder, Angel King, Colter May, Gavin Ortega, and Jayleen Record the opportunity to showcase their skills for representatives from a dozen NFL teams. The athletes participated in a range of tests including the bench press, vertical and broad jumps, the 40-yard dash, as well as position-specific and agility drills.
Ortega and Record served as team captains during the 2025 season. King and Ortega both earned Big Sky All-Conference honors. Ortega was named first-team All-Big Sky and received All-America recognition from FCS Central after starting all 12 games on the offensive line last year. Calder was recognized as second-team All-Big Sky and finished second nationally in field goals made per game, converting 18 out of 21 attempts—tying for seventh-most in a single season at Weber State.
King received honorable mention All-Big Sky after playing in 11 games and ranking third on the team with 60 tackles. May concluded his six-year career at Weber State by playing all 12 games as a senior; he finished third on the team in rushing yards with notable performances late in the season. Record led the Wildcats in receiving last year with 37 catches for 398 yards and three touchdowns, totaling 873 receiving yards and ten touchdowns over his three seasons.
The five seniors will continue training with hopes of being drafted or signed by an NFL team or invited to minicamps or other professional opportunities. The upcoming NFL Draft is scheduled for April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.
