The Weber State Wildcats women’s tennis team lost 4-0 to the California State Northridge Matadors in a neutral site match held in Fresno, California. The match took place at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
CSUN secured the doubles point by winning both completed matches. Angela Ho and Nicole West defeated Jessica Hill and Aleks Bozinovska 6-1 at the top position, while Emma Moratalla Sanz and Sandra Arguelles won 6-3 against Naomi Johnson and Savannah Johnson. The third doubles match, featuring Paulina Aleksandrowicz and Nataly Valdivia Rojas for Weber State, was left unfinished with CSUN leading.
In singles play, CSUN continued its strong performance. Nicole West beat Maggie Song 6-4, 6-4, Emma Moratalla Sanz overcame Paulina Aleksandrowicz in three sets (3-6, 6-0, 6-3), and Madison Shepperson won against Aleks Bozinovska 6-1, 6-4. Three singles matches went unfinished: Angela Ho led Jessica Hill after splitting sets; Tallia Harper was tied with Nataly Valdivia Rojas; and Satsuki Ishikawa led Naomi Johnson.
Weber State will remain in Fresno to face Fresno State University on Sunday afternoon. Fresno State enters the contest with a season record of 6-4. The match is scheduled for noon Pacific Time at the same venue.
