Senator Mike Lee, representing Utah in the United States Senate, addressed several topics in a series of tweets posted on July 29, 2025.

In response to recent violence in New York, Lee wrote, “May God bless the innocent people attacked in New York, lend strength to the courageous men and women of the NYPD, and bring swift justice to those who would harm them.” (July 29, 2025).

Later that day, Lee criticized his Democratic colleagues over delays regarding presidential nominations. He stated, “My Democrat colleagues are throwing every procedural roadblock in the way of President Trump’s nominees. They shouldn’t get a vacation. Nor should we. Let’s cancel recess and keep working.” (July 29, 2025).

In a subsequent tweet on July 29, Lee announced new legislative plans targeting the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). He declared, “Enough is enough. This week I’ll introduce the Protecting American Jobs Act, stripping @NLRB of its power to adjudicate labor disputes. They shouldn’t be able to investigate, prosecute, AND decide cases. Unions should go to federal court & get due process like everyone else.” (July 29, 2025).

Senator Lee has frequently advocated for changes to federal agencies’ authority and emphasized judicial oversight as an alternative mechanism for resolving labor disputes. The NLRB currently holds powers to investigate and resolve certain types of labor issues; critics like Lee argue that this structure lacks sufficient checks and balances.
