Senator Mike Lee posted a series of messages on September 9, 2025, addressing topics ranging from personal birthday wishes to criticism of government data and media coverage.

In his first post, Lee offered congratulations to a centenarian: “Wishing a very happy and healthy 101st birthday to @NelsonRussellM — the best is yet to come!” (September 9, 2025).

Later that day, Lee criticized the Biden administration’s handling of employment statistics. He wrote: “So Biden/Harris were desperately trying to win re-election on fake job numbers. Americans deserve accuracy from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.” (September 9, 2025). The Bureau of Labor Statistics is responsible for producing key economic indicators in the United States, including monthly reports on employment figures.

In another message, Lee commented on media coverage related to crime and ideology. He stated: “The New York Times wants to limit this firestorm to ‘the Right’ because they are afraid it will spread and burn down the entire ideology that allows violent criminals to victimize innocent people. It should.” (September 9, 2025). The New York Times is one of the largest newspapers in the United States and has been frequently cited in national discussions about political polarization and media framing.

Senator Mike Lee represents Utah in the U.S. Senate and is known for his conservative positions on issues such as criminal justice reform and federal oversight.
