Senator Mike Lee, a Republican representing Utah, posted a series of messages on his X (formerly Twitter) account in early August 2025. The tweets addressed topics ranging from political resolve to energy policy.

On August 2, 2025, Lee wrote, “Stay and fight.” Later that same day, he added, “Thank you, Mr. President. When we fight, we win. Let’s go.”

Two days later, on August 4, Lee turned his attention to U.S. energy policy with the following post: “Power plants that run around the clock are being shut down and replaced by sources that only function when the weather cooperates. The USA should learn from Europe’s energy disaster and strengthen our coal and natural gas infrastructure. Read more here:”

Lee has been an outspoken critic of efforts to transition away from fossil fuels toward renewable energy sources. He has argued that overreliance on intermittent energy can threaten grid reliability and points to recent challenges in Europe as a cautionary example for U.S. policymakers.
