The U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources announced on April 20 that it will hold a hearing to review the President’s Budget Request for the Department of Energy for Fiscal Year 2027. The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, at 9:30 a.m. in room 366 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, DC.

The session aims to provide an opportunity for lawmakers to examine and discuss the proposed funding levels and priorities set by the administration for the upcoming fiscal year.

According to the committee, The Honorable Christopher Wright, Secretary of the Department of Energy, will serve as a witness during this hearing. His testimony is expected to address key aspects of the budget proposal and answer questions from committee members.

The committee said that the hearing will be webcast live on its website. An archived video will also be made available shortly after its conclusion. Witness testimony is set to be published online at the start of the hearing.
