U.S. Senator Mike Lee of Utah posted a series of statements on social media between March 28 and March 31, 2026, addressing the Senate’s legislative priorities and procedures.
On March 28, Lee wrote, “College students go on Spring Break. The Senate shouldn’t.” On March 30, he outlined his perspective on Senate strategy: “We have two options: 1) Force a Democrat talking filibuster, beat it, & pass SAVE America, full DHS funding, & other priorities. 2) Nuke the filibuster & pass everything. I prefer option 1. But inaction is unacceptable.” The following day, Lee commented on voting legislation: “The only place in America where voter ID and proof of citizenship does not enjoy supermajority support is the U.S. Senate. Why do you think that might be?”
Senator Lee has been recognized for championing constitutional principles and individual liberty during his tenure in the U.S. Senate (official website). He represents Utah and serves on committees focused on these values while promoting limited government and free markets (official website). A fourth-generation Utahn from Provo, Lee holds degrees in political science and law from Brigham Young University (official website) and previously clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr.
