The Southern Virginia Knights, featuring former Bonneville School standout Emmaline DeGroot, were defeated 8-4 by the York Spartans in their NCAA Division III softball game on Friday, March 6, at 4 p.m.
Harvey-Dryden Field hosted the contest. It marked the teams’ second meeting this season; earlier that day, the Knights dropped a 5-1 decision to the Spartans.
DeGroot pitched two innings, allowing five earned runs and issuing one walk.
The Knights are set to play their next game against the Roanoke Maroons on Saturday, March 7, at 1 p.m. at Harvey-Dryden Field.
