Southern Virginia Knights, featuring former Bonneville School standout Emmaline DeGroot, secured a 12-1 victory over the Randolph Wildcats in an NCAA Division III softball contest held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26.

The win took place at Harvey-Dryden Field and marked the teams’ initial matchup of the season.

Pitching five innings, DeGroot allowed one earned run and struck out three batters.

The Knights are set to face Randolph Wildcats again at Harvey-Dryden Field on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 4 p.m.

Weber State’s softball team ended its season with a loss to Northern Colorado at the Big Sky Tournament. The Wildcats started strong but could not hold off their opponents’ offense. The team’s final record stands at 14-42.
