The US Economic Development Administration awarded Weber State University a grant worth $1,439,670 to help fund a project in Weber County.

The grant was awarded on Nov. 22. The EDA describes the grant as follows:

"This EDA investment supports the development of a new training program for the Ogden-Clearfield Launchpad entrepreneurship center near a designated Opportunity Zone in Weber County, Utah. The project will provide a critical infrastructure for early-stage entrepreneurs to become competitive for formal fund-raising activities and serve as a skills training center to fill skill-gaps in the manufacturing and business labor markets. Once implemented, the project will create jobs, spur private investments, and strengthen the regional economy."
