Congressman Blake Moore, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Utah's 1st district since 2021, recently shared a series of tweets regarding his legislative efforts and initiatives. Born in Ogden, Utah, in 1980, Moore currently resides in Salt Lake City and is a graduate of the University of Utah.

On February 11, 2025, Congressman Moore tweeted about Utah's reputation for having "the Greatest Snow on Earth" and highlighted skiing as a vital part of the local economy. He stated that this was the reason behind his introduction of the SHRED Act. The act aims to allow local National Forests to retain a portion of annual fees paid by ski areas operating on Forest Service lands. "UT is known for having the Greatest Snow on Earth, & skiing is a critical component of our local economy. That is why I introduced the SHRED Act to allow local National Forests to retain a portion of annual fees paid by ski areas operating on Forest Service lands."
