The Weber State football team will wrap up its spring practice for the 2026 season with the annual Spring Game, scheduled for Saturday, April 11 at Stewart Stadium. The university announced on Apr. 8 that admission to the event is free for all fans.
The upcoming game marks a new chapter for the Wildcats as Eric Kjar takes over as head coach. Kjar was named the program’s 13th head coach in December and brings with him a strong record from his time coaching high school football in Utah.
The Spring Game will begin at 11 a.m., featuring offense versus defense using a modified scoring system. Fans arriving early can participate in a yard sale of old Wildcat gear starting at 10 a.m. on the north side of Stewart Stadium, where only credit cards will be accepted.
Kjar arrives in Ogden after achieving significant success at Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah, where he posted an overall record of 112-10 and won six state championships over nine seasons. During his tenure there, he coached several state MVPs and All-Americans, as well as players who advanced to Division I college programs and even reached the NFL Draft—such as quarterbacks Jaxson Dart and Zach Wilson, and offensive lineman Jackson Powers Johnson.
This year’s roster for Weber State will include nearly 50 new players, including several transfers from other Division I programs. The team hopes these additions will help shape its performance under Coach Kjar’s leadership.
