The Weber State men’s golf team finished the first round of the 2026 Big Sky Championships in fifth place with a score of 299, according to an April 27 announcement. The tournament is being held at Wigwam Golf Club.
This opening round result places Weber State in the middle of the six-team field after the first day of play. The team’s performance sets up an important second round as they look to move up the leaderboard.
Matthew Wilson led Weber State on day one, shooting a 1-over par 73 that included three birdies and an eagle. He is currently tied for sixth place individually. Bobby Kincaid also placed among the top-20, carding a 2-over par 74 with one birdie and two eagles, putting him in a tie for eleventh.
Ty Anderson and Jesus Castaneda each posted scores of four-over-par (76), tying them for twenty-first place. Castaneda recorded three birdies during his round while Anderson made two. Markus Nanpei added two birdies en route to a five-over-par (77), tying him for twenty-sixth position.
Sacramento State holds a narrow lead at two-over-par (290), just one shot ahead of Idaho (291). Northern Colorado sits third at 293, followed by Francis Marion at 294 and Eastern Washington trailing Weber State by four shots with a score of 303. Sac State’s Gabriel Smith leads all individuals after shooting four-under-par (68) for a two-shot advantage over the rest of the field.
The second round will begin Tuesday morning at 7:30 am Mountain Daylight Time, with Weber State scheduled to tee off starting at 8:20 am.
