Weber State softball lost 5-1 to Utah State on April 14 at Wildcat Field.
The game saw Utah State take an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning with an RBI double from Pratt and a two-run home run by Erickson. Weber State struggled offensively, recording only three hits during the contest.
Emma Bingham scored the Wildcats’ only run in the sixth inning after stealing third base and reaching home on a throwing error by Utah State. However, any momentum was halted when Erickson hit her second home run of the day in the seventh inning, bringing in two more runs for Utah State.
Raina Navarro took the loss as pitcher for Weber State. Despite keeping the game close after a tough first inning, Weber State could not overcome the early deficit. Utah State finished with eleven hits overall.
Looking ahead, Weber State will host its final home series against Montana this weekend. Senior day celebrations are scheduled following Saturday’s game, and there will be a ceremony renaming Wildcat Softball Field before Saturday’s matchup at 11 a.m. Home games and Big Sky Conference games can be streamed on ESPN+.
