Weber State’s softball team concluded its season on May 5 with a 12-3 defeat against the Northern Colorado Bears in Pocatello, Idaho. The game ended after five innings, bringing an end to the Wildcats’ run in the Big Sky Tournament.
The match began with Weber State taking an early lead after Abby Grundy and Sadie Kirk hit consecutive home runs, putting the Wildcats ahead 2-0. However, Northern Colorado quickly responded by scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 4-2 advantage.
Northern Colorado continued its strong performance in the second inning by adding another four runs, extending their lead to 8-2. In the fourth inning, Harrington of Northern Colorado hit a grand slam that pushed their total to 12-3.
