Weber State University announced on Apr. 27 the addition of Grace Hintz to its women’s basketball program.
The announcement is significant for the Wildcats as they look to strengthen their roster with new talent. Hintz, a 5-foot-8 guard from Lynden, Washington, joins Weber State after spending her freshman season at Montana State.
During her time with the Bobcats, Hintz appeared in 25 games and averaged 8.6 minutes per game. She recorded a total of 42 points, averaging 1.7 points and 0.8 rebounds per game.
Head coach Jenteal Jackson said, “Weber State has gained a skilled three level scorer in Grace. She is a great addition to our team, on and off the court. She’s a savvy competitor who will elevate our guard play and is eager to compete and make an impact. We can’t wait to get to work with Grace, watch her grow and witness her success here with us!”
Hintz’s high school career at Lynden Christian included being named the No. 1-ranked guard in Washington’s class of 2025 by Prep Girls Hoops. She was recognized as a three-time first-team all-state tournament selection and twice received all-state honors while leading her team to a state title in 2022 and runner-up finish in 2023. As a sophomore, she set the school’s single-season scoring record with 585 points, averaging 23 points during the regular season.
In addition to basketball achievements, Hintz earned first-team all-state honors in soccer and played on Lynden Christian High School’s state runner-up soccer team in 2022. Her family also has ties to collegiate athletics: her mother Blythe (Hommes) and cousin Jasmine (Hommes) were Big Sky Conference MVPs in previous years; aunt Brooke Hommes was an all-conference player for Montana State’s championship team.
