Weber State University announced on April 27 the addition of Sidney Anderson to its women’s basketball program. Head coach Jenteal Jackson said Anderson will join the Wildcats after spending her freshman season at Grand Canyon University.
The announcement highlights Anderson’s experience as a guard from Tucson, Arizona. Jackson said, “We are so thrilled to add Sidney to our team! Sidney fits us exceptionally well on and off the court and we are excited for her impact. She’s a prolific shooter and has other pieces to her game we are excited to tap into. We feel Sid fits our system and coaching style. We can’t wait to get to work with her and look forward to all her growth and success ahead here at Weber State.”
Anderson was a four-year letter winner at Salpointe Catholic in Tucson, where she averaged 15.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 2.7 steals per game over her high school career. In her senior year in 2025, she earned First Team honors for both the Arizona 4A All-State and Kino All-Region teams.
During previous seasons, Anderson received recognition as the 5A Southern Region Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2023 along with Second Team All-Conference honors that same year. She also made First Team for both the Sonoran Region (as a freshman) and Kino All-Region (as a senior), while ranking second in Arizona’s Division 4A for three-point shots made with seventy-one successful attempts.
Anderson finished high school shooting forty-one percent from the floor and thirty-five percent from beyond the arc.
