Weber State women’s basketball announced on April 27 the addition of Siena Guttadauro to its team. Head coach Jenteal Jackson said Guttadauro will join the Wildcats as a transfer from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Guttadauro, a 5-foot-6 guard from San Jose, California, spent three seasons with UTSA. During her freshman year, she started in three games and appeared in 24 contests, averaging 12.3 minutes per game and scoring a total of 52 points along with recording 18 assists and grabbing 29 rebounds. In her sophomore season, she played in 25 games, averaging 2.9 points per game and making 21 three-pointers. As a junior, she participated in five games where she scored 19 points with seven assists, five rebounds and one steal.
Jackson said about the new recruit: “We can’t wait to get Siena in a purple uniform! She’s a shifty, quick and exceptionally skilled guard who can score at all three levels. We see so much potential and upside in Siena. She’s a creator, for herself and others and is hungry to compete. We look forward to coaching her and seeing her development and success in our program!”
Before college, Guttadauro was part of the San Jose Cagers club team which had a strong winning record. She also helped lead Archbishop Mitty Monarchs to three West Catholic Athletic League championships as well as two CIF championships during high school competition. Her prep accolades include being named first-team all-WCAL, most outstanding player at both the Lolani Classic and Martin Luther King Jr. Classic tournaments in 2022; second-team all-Bay Area; first-team small forward on the all-metro list for the 2021-22 season; as well as averaging notable statistics during her junior year.
The addition of Guttadauro is expected to strengthen Weber State’s backcourt options going into future seasons.
