The Weber State women’s golf team finished in seventh place after the final round of the Big Sky Conference Championships on April 22 at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
The tournament marked the end of the season for the Wildcats, who posted rounds of 294 and 302 before shooting a final round score of 296. Their combined total over three rounds was 892.
Sofia Fuenmayor led Weber State with a strong performance, carding five birdies in her final round for a score of one-under-par 70. She finished tied for fifth place overall with rounds of 70-72-70 and an aggregate score of one-under-par 212. Cala Korman also placed among the top competitors, finishing fifteenth with scores of 73-74-72 for a six-over-par total of 219. Korman closed out her tournament by playing her last five holes at four-under par, including an eagle on hole fourteen and consecutive birdies on holes seventeen and eighteen.
Other contributors included Braylyn Bayer, who finished thirty-ninth overall (78-78-77—233), and Emily Song, who tied for forty-sixth (83-78-77—238). Adley Nelson played in the first two rounds (73-79), while Jade Gruher replaced her in the final round with a score of seventy-nine.
Northern Arizona University secured first place to win the championship title with a five-under-par total team score of eight hundred forty-seven. Northern Colorado came second, followed by Montana State and Portland State. In individual play, Lizzie Neale from Northern Arizona shot six-under-par sixty-five in her final round to tie Montana State’s Norah Seidl atop the leaderboard at five-under-par two hundred eight after fifty-four holes.
