The Weber State women’s golf team finished the second round of the Big Sky Conference Championships in eighth place after shooting an 18-over par score of 302 on Apr. 21 at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
The team’s position slipped by two spots with only one round remaining in the tournament. This development is significant as it impacts their chances for a higher finish in the conference standings.
Sofia Fuenmayor led Weber State for the second consecutive day, recording a 1-over par 72 and tying for fifth place overall at even-par 142 through two rounds. Cala Korman shot a 3-over par 74 and is tied for nineteenth at 147, while Adley Nelson fell into a tie for twenty-ninth after carding a round of 79, bringing her total to 152. Braylyn Bayer posted another round of 78 and sits tied for forty-fourth at 156, while Emily Song also shot a 78 and is in forty-eighth place with a total score of 161.
Northern Arizona maintained its lead atop the team standings by posting a second straight under-par team score with a collective round of one-under par (283). The Lumberjacks are now three-under par (565) overall and hold a five-shot advantage over Northern Colorado heading into Wednesday’s final round.
In individual competition, Northern Arizona’s Nina Lukyanenko leads after shooting two-under par (70) on Tuesday, bringing her total to four-under (138). She holds a one-shot lead over Jaci Hartman from Northern Colorado.
