Weber State freshman Wyatt Larkins was named the Big Sky Field Athlete of the Week for a second straight week, according to an April 13 announcement. This marks his second conference honor of the season.
Larkins received the recognition after achieving a distance of 208 feet, 3 inches in the hammer throw at the WSU Spring Classic on April 10. He won first place in that event with a margin of victory exceeding 15 feet.
Earlier this season, Larkins set a school record in the hammer throw with a mark of 218 feet, 11 inches at the UC San Diego Triton Invitational. That performance currently ranks him twenty-second nationally among NCAA competitors in the event.
Looking ahead, Weber State’s track and field team will divide its squad between two upcoming competitions: The Bryan Clay Invitational from April 16 to April 18 in Azusa, California, and the Oregon Team Challenge from April 17 to April 18 in Eugene, Oregon.
